Stock Market Jokes

1. Have you ever encountered this before?

During a bull market, you decided to load a stock counter. Immediately after you bought the counter, the bull dies and a bear hugs you from behind. The counter out of the sudden, plummet.

You decided to counter the situation by selling off the counter cutting your loss and at the same time short the counter. Seconds after you have shorted the counter, a bull suddenly charged towards you and the counter started to go up again.

2. What is the definition of a Bull Market?

I have a friend he told me that he had made lots of money from the stock market. He insisted that it is going to be a Capricorn effect (A bull trend during the start of the calender year). I told him that the stock market is way more complex than that. It does not move on a straight line. Not taking the advice, he expectantly lost a great deal through contra trading subsequently.

The definition of a Bull Market is actually a up-going market that will cause investors to mistake themselves as financial genius.

3. Who are brokers?

They are this people who helps you to buy, sell and manage your stock investment needs. They are usually the one who made people broke.

4. Sometime when you made a mistake of buying a certain down-trend stock, you really hope that your broker will one day come up to you, while holding your hands telling you that actually he did not buy that stock for you. Well, we all know that this is not going to happen.

5. Who are institution investors?

They are the people who decides the fate of a stock. If they buys, the stock price is going to rocket. And when they sell, the stock crashed.

[NEWS] 2009: the Year of Twitter and Facebook

News extracted from channelnewsasia.com: The explosion of Twitter and domination of social networking by Facebook in the wonderful year of 2009.

____________________________________________________________________

WASHINGTON: Twitter, fueled by smartphones and online bursts of 140 characters, soared to lofty heights over the past year while Facebook eclipsed MySpace to become the world's leading social network.

"Those are the big winners," said Jason Keath, a North Carolina-based social media consultant and founder of SocialFresh.com, an organiser of social media conferences. "Facebook more or less tripled their size this year."

"Twitter grew immensely," added Keath. "I think they were somewhere around maybe two to four million users at the beginning of the year. Now they're near 40 million."

With 350 million members, "if Facebook was a country it would be the fourth most populous nation," said Scott Stanzel, a former deputy press secretary to president George W. Bush who has also worked for software giant Microsoft.

"Going back one year ago I don't think people would have thought Twitter would have had the influence it's had," added Stanzel, who now runs Stanzel Communications, a Seattle-based public relations consulting firm that offers social media planning among its services.

"It was gaining popularity but it has really exploded this year and it's done so in a way that's become incredibly pervasive," he said.

Twitter has reportedly spurned takeover offers worth hundreds of millions of dollars from Google and Facebook, and its influence as a communications and news-breaking tool has been validated in a number of ways over the past year.

In June, the State Department asked Twitter to delay scheduled maintenance on the service because it was being used by protestors angered by the results of Iran's disputed presidential election.

More recently, Google and Microsoft began integrating Twitter messages into their respective search engines, a new feature described as real-time search.

Rampant adoption of smartphones has much to do with Twitter's growth, according to Jack Levin, co-founder and chief executive of ImageShack, an online media hosting company which runs yfrog.com, a service for sharing images and video on Twitter.

"The explosion of smartphones in the United States and many other countries has led to the success and ease of communication between people and Twitter is certainly in the middle of that," Levin said.

"People obviously want to communicate and Twitter is really a communications platform," he said of the service which allows users to pepper one another with messages of 140 characters or less and provide links to the Web.

"It's a hybrid between instant messenger and email," Levin said.

Levin's yfrog.com is one of the thousands of applications created for Twitter by outside software developers credited with fueling the popularity of the microblogging service.

Facebook, which started the trend of opening up to outside creators of fun mini-programmes, was also quick to realise the appeal of being able to connect from anywhere at any time.

"The thing they've done and MySpace didn't do is they've really expanded the scope of their network past the initial site," Keath said. "Facebook Connect is a big piece of that, where you can take your Facebook account and log in from other places."

Facebook and Twitter are popular because essentially they "provide real value to people in their personal and work lives," according to Stanzel.

"You can keep up with hundreds if not thousands just by having a Facebook account or by being active on Twitter," he said.

Stanzel also credited social media tools with "redefining the way in which companies or politicians relate to their consumers or constituents."

Is Gold Price At Its Peak?

Currently Gold Spot Price has climbed to an unbelievable level at its currently price at $1006.50. When Gold was at $900 level, many people are already skeptical that it would even go higher, but what happened after that? Not many would have thought that with equities and counters recovering, Gold would even climbed to its current level. The interest in Gold has never seems to die down.

So I guess, it would never hurt to invest in some gold in the form of certificates or even gold coins. Gold coins is one of my favorite because not only the price would most probably appreciate over time, it is also one of the collectibles that collectors around the world would even buy these gold coins at a higher price due to its collectible value.

Moving onwards, I would inclined to believe that Gold spot price will very soon hit $1,100.

The above are of personal opinion and not at all an inducement to trade.

The Importance of Accepting Credit Card For Businesses

Businesses have been experiencing a very tough time all the way from the end of the year 2008 till lately before the very bullish economy recovery lately. But the playing field for businesses and particularly the online business, that is E-Commerce.

Having a website that provides services or products is not like having a 'brick and mortar', it is very different and more competitive. As operation costs are reduced running a web business, people tend to have a lot of choice in terms of where these products or services they can get from.

In order to get your website a cut above the rest of your competitions, you will need to have the ability to accept credit card payment. Just how do you do that? Well, all you need is a Credit Card Processing Function. This ability not only helps you to get more businesses as not many people likes to pay via PayPal or otherwise.

The bulk of the problem came from getting a Credit Card Processor. It is quite difficult to get a processor to work with you and some may even charge a very high fee. Introducing Five Star Payment. Easy approval, reasonable charges and get ready to make positive change for your business now with Five Star Payment.

Singtel website advertises on porn site

Singtel website advertises on porn site: Why so desperate for hits?

This is what I found on the headlines in 'Singapore Seen' over at STOMP (THE STRAITS TIMES). What happen was this person had actually found advertisement banner of inSing.com, a website under Singtel, a Singapore listed company (Telco) in a porn website. A screen-shot was actually taken and posted in STOMP. This really amazes as advertisements are really on the roll and it can appear almost everywhere. And I do sincerely mean, 'everywhere'.

This website inSing.com is a site that gives information on Singapore best food, shopping, good deals and so on. The 'reporter' before reporting this piece of news, well, he has to be in a porn website first before spotting this little finding and then, post it on STOMP. This has been triggering some discussions by the 'Stompers' on how they actually perceives this piece of news.

The Internet is still spreading its influence around the globe and the world is not totally connected yet and web traffic is actually equal to money. So what really matters would be traffic, in my personal opinion. To be fair, it could be unintentional from the onset.
